Bill Ingle

Bill Ingle is a life long resident of Mooresville North Carolina. In his teenage years Bill learned the skill and art of automotive wiring and electrical systems and went on to create his own business of rebuilding automotive and heavy duty electrical components for the automotive and trucking industries, as well as complete wiring systems. While owning his business he began working for Junior Johnson when Darrell Waltrip and Neil Bonnett drove for Junior Johnson & Associates in Ronda, N.C. Bill helped to sort out wiring problems on the Darrell Waltrip driven Pepsi Challenger at the 1983 Daytona 500 and his NASCAR career was off and running. Soon many race teams both GM and Ford were using Bill’s special built alternators and wiring harnesses that were proven to be more reliable and durable. Bill went on to become an over the wall pit crew member as a tire changer, jackman and gas man. He has also served as Team Manager and Crew Chief for such notable teams as BAHARI Racing with Michael Waltrip, R.P.M. with Ricky Rudd , Alan Kulwicki, Ward Burton and others Accomplishments include the UAW GM Mechanic of the year Award of Excellence in 1994, along with pole position, race wins and many pit strategy awards for calls that proved to be pivot able in the outcome of the races. Bill has also tried his hand at driving in the Busch Grand National ranks now called the Nationwide Series. He has built and raced his own cars at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, Daytona International Speedway, New Hampshire, South Boston, and Concord.
Recently Bill has appeared on the NASCAR This Morning and NASCAR Victory Lane shows as a race analyst offering expert commentary on the mechanical, technical and safety related aspects of a NASCAR race car.
